Also known as Yume Samdong, Zero Point is situated at an altitude of 15,300 feet above mean sea level. It is the last bastion of civilisation and the place where three rivers meet.
It offers panoramic views of snow-capped mountains and picturesque surroundings.
Being very close to the international border between India and China, visitors need a permit to visit.
Tourists need about 1.5 hours from the Yumthang Valley, 25 km away, and 3 to 3.5 hours from Lachung to reach it.
After reaching this point, there are no civilian roads beyond, so it is also called ground zero.
Although the roads can be dangerous, it is well worth the effort to get here, as you will be rewarded by the beauty of the unspoilt mountain scenery.
If you are lucky, you might even see a yak in the snow.
There are almost no green spaces at ground zero, except for those that become visible when the snow melts.
